Latest News about Irish Basketball History and More

Well a few more months have gone by and it has now been 6 months since we launched  our Irish Basketball History and More Facebook Group.  Membership has soared past the 500 mark and  visits to the group's page from members and casual visitors has exceeded 30 thousand views.  That does not include the thousands from around the world who have also visited        the Irish Basketball History website.     That is Fantastic !  

Some of our fellow members have reacted to a statement we share frequently ... " Remember it is Your Posts and Comments that keep Your Group Interesting ". They shared some info, made a comment or clicked that little LIKE button here and there.  But the vast majority of our fellow members are like spectators in the stands watching the game without clapping or cheering ! I think some of the  referees in our group are almost ready to call a technical foul on the "FANS"!  

So here is a little group challenge. Over the coming months try to make at least 1 comment, click the Like button at least once and share the group link with some Irish Basketball fan that you know.  Hopefully you can do that at least once per month.

Do you remember seeing the above message when we kicked off the start of your new Irish Basketball History and More Facebook Group ? Well it has now been a little more than 3 short months since we started and with your help we just passed the 400 members mark. Taking into account that we are just finishing the pre season and finally starting training sessions. that is a number you can all be proud of. Congratulations! 

BUT ... The clock is ticking and the beginning of the new season is fast approaching.  Basketball Ireland, Basketball Northern Ireland, area/county boards, leagues and clubs are making their plans so that they are ready to have a successful 2023 - 2024 season. Although we have the Irish Basketball News Page  with links to many of the national and local Basketball news sources, and the new  Its That Time of Year Again Post ( see screen shot below),  the best source of timely news on upcoming events, league schedules, game and tournament results, etc. is found in posts on our group's page from you and your fellow group members.    It only takes a couple of minutes to share a post with the group. If you are uncomfortable sending a post, feel free to send a Facebook Message to Bob Gihbu ( an admin) or email it to  ibbhistory@gmail.com and we will try to post it for you. 

  Meanwhile, enjoy the interactions with your fellow group members and don't forget to share the Irish Basketball History and More Facebook Group Page or the Who is Bob Gihbu Intro/Invite with your friends and fellow basketball supporters. Even sharing with 2 or 3 friends will help the group to continue to grow.  Everyone is encouraged to spread the news.
