A Little "Bit" of Irish Basketball History: Masters Basketball in Ireland

Masters Basketball has been an active and expanding segment of the sport in Ireland for many years. In many respects it evolved out of the Junior competitions which have been in existence since almost the beginning of club basketball. It accommodated extending the careers of many veteran players who were still anxious to compete. In July of 2020 Basketball Ireland made the following announcement concerning its intent to support this desire to compete.

“Basketball Ireland is constantly looking at ways to keep people actively playing the game at all ages and this new Masters National Cup will hopefully entice some new and returning players.”
