 1956 IONA (Cork)

Established circa 1956 in the Blarney Street area of Cork's Northside. Many of their first players went home picking rocks out of their knees since the first court was made of gravel. Their Minor teams became a dominant  presence nationally. Won 13 All Ireland Minor (Under Age) Championships in the early days.   Senior teams were always challenging Neptune and Demons in the Cork Leagues and later in the National League.   

     

  Cork legends such as Seanie Murphy, John Cooney

 and Pat Quirke all started with Iona.
